We're all familiar with the extreme antics of GG Allin, but in director Sami Saif's upcoming film "The Allins," we get to hear a different side of the story. GG’s two remaining family members, mother Arleta and brother Merle (from the still active The Murder Junkies), reveal a side of GG rarely seen. It's a story about an extraordinary loving family, whose departed son and brother has left a trail of unanswered questions, and how we need to feed our own version of the past to overcome the present and the future.
The film, produced by Toolbox Film, will premiere in Copenhagen, Denmark on April 9th. Toolbox Film was established in March 2011 as a small, Copenhagen-based production company that takes a hands-on approach to film making. Saif's film will be just one of several prominent films produced by Toolbox Film for the Danish cinema in recent years.
"Sami Saif first messaged me four years ago," said Merle. "Over the course of that time they filmed interviews with me and my mom. They came on tour with The Murder Junkies and they filmed the 20 year anniversary show of GG's death. They also came out to my place in California and talked to me about life with GG, and life after GG. They also wanted to know how me and my mom dealt with the whole thing."
Merle and his mother contributed rare photos from the Allin family photo album, which helped Saif illustrate the whole story. Toolbox Film hopes to have a US premiere and theatrical run in the near future.
Misfits guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein will be playing The Duke in Death Ward 13. The film is a remake of Don't Look In The Basement and Doyle's character is the main antagonist.
The film is currently in Pre Production...
It’s 1973 and the Stephens Sanitarium for the Criminally Insane prepares to shut down permanently. Days before closing, four beautiful nursing students arrive to care for the last handful of “harmless” mental patients in a suspiciously understaffed ward. Confronted by their violent charges, the nurses soon realize that they are trapped inside the asylum with a deadly crew of vicious lunatics.
Each patient has their own perverse identity, their own personal demons, and their own violent agenda. Pushed to the brink of insanity, the young nurses find themselves in a gruesome fight for survival inside Ward 13.
