Among these, Riccardo Freda (I vampiri, The Horrible Dr. Hichock)'s Double Face was marketed in West Germany as an Edgar Wallace 'krimi', while in Italy it was sold as a giallo in the tradition of Mario Bava's Blood and Black Lace, combining elements from both genres for a unique and unforgettable viewing experience. When wealthy businessman John Alexander (the legendary Klaus Kinski, giving an atypically restrained performance)'s unfaithful wife Helen (Margaret Lee, Circus of Fear) dies in a car crash, it initially looks like a freak accident. However, the plot thickens when evidence arises suggesting that the car was tampered with prior to the crash. And John's entire perception of reality is thrown into doubt when he discovers a recently-shot pornographic movie which appears to feature Helen - suggesting that she is in fact alive and playing an elaborate mind game on him... Psychological, psychedelic, and at times just plain psychotic, Double Face stands as one of the most engaging and enjoyable films in Freda's lengthy and diverse career - a densely-plotted, visually-stunning giallo that evokes much of the same ambience of paranoia and decadence as such classics of the genre as One on Top of the Other and A Lizard in a Woman's Skin. The last five star movie I watched was Deep Cover. I thought Laurence Fishburne and Jeff Goldblum were great in it, and I found it to be enthralling overall.

It rarely happens that i watch a movie i would call a classic or a 5 out of 5 movie. They only come by once or twice a year. I guess it comes down to the personal criterias for rating a movie… Also a movie can be a classic without having scored the highest grade in my book. That is if the movie has some historical importance or something like that. A good example would be Psycho by Hitchcock. Personally i would not rate Psycho as being a 5 out of 5 movie, but i would still regard it as a classic because of its historical importance. So in my book there is a clear distinction between getting the highest score and then being a classic. Anyway the last 5 out of 5 movie i watched was a local Danish movie called Danmarks sønner (Sons of Denmark; Directed by Ulaa Salim, 2019). The movie manage to capture the current state of both the political situation in Denmark and Danish society as a whole. Essentially the movie plays out as a ``what if scenario´´ where everything goes as wrong, as one could possibly imagine. I went to watch it in the cinema with a friend and after the movie was over no one left their seats. Everyone just kept setting in their seats, quietly, trying to process what they just had seen. You could virtually hear a needle drop. It says a lot about the impact the movie made both on me and the rest of the audience because i have never experienced that before. The story is so well constructed with a neat plot twist, the acting is top notch, the camera work/editing is efficient and the climax is mind blowing. And of course the movie has sparked some debates and controversies… But the funny thing is that even though i hold the movie in high esteem. I am not sure i would regard it as a classic in Danish cinema. Simply because i am afraid it would feel extremely outdated 5 years from now because the society would have changed and therefore unable to relate to the movie. That is also the reason why i would not recommend it to people from outside Denmark. They would not be able to understand the context of the movie, in that way you can call it a very ``Culture specific´´ movie. Anyway i hope that the movie will get some recognition by winning some awards and maybe be the Danish contribution as best foreign film in next years Oscar show. Thank you for reading my extremely long post;)
